Writing about OCD

I had such a nice response to my Huffington Post piece on the Girls episode about Hannah’s relapse of OCD that I just had to write about it! It’s on the International OCD Foundation’s blog.

I am the author of Being Me with OCD: How I Learned to Obsess Less and Live My Life, a nonfiction book for teens and young adults with OCD. Part memoir, part self-help guide, Being Me with OCD lets readers know they're not alone in their struggle to get better--and that there is hope.

Hi Alison, My name is Keith and I recently posted a response to your article (“I’m so OCD”) on the ocfoundation blog. I wrote an article about my life experience with ocd and just wanted to see if you could recommend where to send it if I want to get it published on the ocfoundation website. You can email me if you want to. Thanks very much. Keith .

Hi, Keith! I’m sorry, I forgot to write back. To be honest, I’m not really sure where you should send the article. The OCD Foundation asked me to write blog posts after I shared a Huffington Post article with them, so you could try doing that. I had just posted it to their Facebook wall and they then shared it themselves. You could maybe look into Psychology Today or publications like that. Good luck!

Maybe you could use the “Contact” information on the blog, or email them on their Facebook page?
